Hot Box Waxing The purpose of Hot Box Waxing a ski is to get as much wax as possible into the base of a ski. ONE HOT BOX waxing is equal to approximately 15 regular hot waxes. Skis are coated with a special Base Prep Wax and left @ 55C for a period of at LEAST 8 hours. This keeps the wax in a semi liquid form to absorb in the base. This is the best way to make your skis FAST and properly care for the base.
